The Classical Tulip Scarf is made from 100% silk twill. The centre print comes from a piece of fabric from 1820 France, featuring a very big tulip in the centre along with other flowers and plants. Along the border is another print, but this one is from a paisley from 1880 England. Both antique fabrics come from the archive. The French flower printed fabric was purchased from a collector in England, whereas the English paisley was purchased in France.
The fabric is extremely soft to the touch and has a beautiful matt surface. All of our twill scarves are printed on both sides to ensure that the print is equally clear and striking no matter which way you fold it. The edges are rolled and sewn by hand – a time-intensive process that gives the scarf a very handsome hem.
